Quedgeley Town Council-May 2 2024-DPI Form Cllr N Lee
(1358KB, pdf)
Ward: Central – Elected
I was born in Mountain Ash, Mid Glamorgan, christened at St. James’s, Tredworth and grew up mostly in the Middle East (with brief periods in Cyprus, Hong Kong and Wales by way of variety). After living in Matson from 1993 until 1997 I then moved to Quedgeley. I work part-time at Oxfam’s Gloucester shop, in the books department, with particular responsibility for Politics, History, Law, Business, Religion, Mythology and Philosophy and I help out with Romantic/General Fiction, Classics, Travel and Thrillers/Detective Fiction as required.
I was Chairman of the Sports Centre Committee from 2007-10. I represented the then Parish Council on the St. James’ Church Parochial Church Council (from 2006-12), Equals Youth Club (from 2003-10) and the Gloucester Partnership’s Priority Action Group (from 2004-10). I also go to conferences, AGM’s held by Young Gloucestershire, QCV and similar organisations on an ad hoc basis.
Like our other Town Councillors, I am very concerned about the limited recreational amenities in Quedgeley in general and specifically want to help create a really good Sports Centre for use by all ages, disabled and able-bodied alike, as well as increasing the lamentably small amount of public open space currently available in a sadly over-developed area.
My other interests are the Gloucester Law Centre, where I was a Trustee from 2001 to 2007 (and am still a member) and St James’ Church Parochial Church Council for which I am now a server. I am also a bibliomaniac and I support England Cricket, England and Wales Rugby, Gloucester Rugby, Leeds United and Liverpool.
